Purim / פורים

Purim / פורים

Purim (Hebrew: פּוּרִים, Pûrîm “lots”, from the word pur, related to Akkadian pūru) is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction in the wake of a plot by Haman, a story recorded in the Biblical Book of Esther (Megillat Esther).

Purim begins at sundown on Sat, 11 March 2017.

I recommend you read the book of Esther this week. Don,t forget ancient Persia is today’s Iran.

It is important to understand that the Jewish people have be threaten with total destruction before.
Iran (Persia) has had a history of this. Read the book of Esther. Those events will happen again.
